Features: If one looks at the Great Wall only from the outside, it may appear as just an ancient building or an ancient military defense system. However, it contains many aspects, such as military, political, historical, cultural, geographical, architectural, ethnic, economic, and more. Every person has a different understanding of the Great Wall, and this understanding comes from their perspective and grasp of its deeper meaning. The Chinese are familiar with the story of Qin Shi Huang building the Great Wall, but in fact, people had already been building the Great Wall long before him. The scale of the Great Wall built in those early days was not as large as the one constructed during Qin Shi Huang's time, which is why it remains less known. A scholar who studied the Great Wall summarized it in just two sentences: "Over two thousand years in length and ten thousand miles in width." This means that from the very beginning of building the Great Wall to its eventual completion, it took over two thousand years. And the total length of all the Great Walls built during those two thousand years exceeds ten thousand miles. For over two thousand years, on the banks of the Great Wall, countless grand historical dramas have unfolded. These include fierce battles for the survival of nations, as well as periods of peaceful coexistence among brothers. But whether in war or peace, the Great Wall has always served as a bond, connecting the people living on both sides of it. There is an ancient Chinese proverb that says, "Unity is strength" or "The strength of a city is in the unity of its people." Today, when we look back at the Great Wall, can we not also say: The Great Wall—City of Unity for the Chinese Nation!
