Features: The name of the great Russian poet Pushkin is already familiar to a vast number of readers in China. Since the introduction and translation of Pushkin by predecessors such as Lu Xun, Guo Moruo, Mao Dun, and Zheng Zhenduo, and through the continuous efforts of later generations, Pushkin's works have appeared before readers in numerous individual volumes and various collections and complete editions. On June 6, 1999, the 200th anniversary of the poet's birth was celebrated as a national holiday in Russia. Cities in China, such as Beijing and Shanghai, also held various forms of commemorative events on this day. People's Literature Publishing House even managed to publish the commemorative collection Pushkin and Me on this very day, showcasing the deep love and respect the Chinese people hold for Pushkin. Through his poems, prose, poetic dramas, and poetic fairy tales, Pushkin pioneered a new era in Russian literature, rapidly bringing Russian literature, which had lagged behind Western Europe, up to par. As a result, he is justifiably recognized as the founder of modern Russian literature, the creator of the Russian literary language, and the "sun of Russian poetry." In his lifetime, Pushkin wrote over 800 lyric poems. This book selects 200 of them from different stages of his creative career, most of which are timeless masterpieces of Russian literature. Additionally, we have carefully chosen over a dozen illustrations, both large and small, from the vast number of illustrations created by generations of painters over the past two centuries to accompany Pushkin's poems. These include masterpieces by renowned Russian painters such as Repin. We believe that classic works paired with exquisite illustrations will bring readers endless artistic enjoyment. This book includes Pushkin's poetry, novels, and dramas.
