Features: This set of "Chinese Cultural Relic Collection and Identification · Inscription Series" first introduces inscriptions of ceramic categories. It can be considered the first toolbook for object inscriptions following the category of paintings and calligraphy, showcasing considerable innovation. The ceramic inscriptions are divided into four volumes: Ceramic Chronological Inscriptions, Ceramic Hall Name Inscriptions, Ceramic Inscription Symbols, and Zisha Engraved Inscriptions. The first three volumes are organized based on the content of the inscriptions, following this framework and then arranged in chronological order. This approach is clear in structure and easy to understand. The fourth volume focuses solely on Zisha Engraved Inscriptions, and it is inevitable that there are imperfections and shortcomings in both its format and arguments, given its pioneering nature. However, the experience accumulated from this volume plays an important role in providing a reference for the future development of increasingly complete volumes on inscriptions of other types of cultural relics. Therefore, its pioneering significance is commendable. This series categorizes and compiles Chinese ceramic inscriptions in chronological order, making it convenient for reference. It provides valuable materials for cultural relic enthusiasts and is a highly targeted and practical toolbook. It is worth mentioning that among the inscriptions, the Zisha inscriptions are relatively simpler compared to porcelain. The writing methods of Zisha inscriptions mainly involve carving and scratching, with a few exceptions of writing. In terms of carving techniques, there are both relief () and intaglio () methods, and the content is primarily composed of name inscriptions and poetic texts.
