Notes from Wumenglou

Author: Zhang Zhongxiao
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-05-01
Features: A young man of great talent wrote a large number of reading notes in the ten years after his life. Hardship could not describe the path of his later life, but these thoughts forged with blood and tears made his short life a tragic story. Without the words written on yellowed, old paper, without the powerful force of those words, Zhang Zhongxiao, who has been dead for three or four decades, might not have been revisited today. However, he was not forgotten. This is not because he wrote many influential articles in his twenties in the 1950s, showing his talent, nor because he suffered extreme misfortune after 1955 due to the Hu Feng case. Rather, it is because in the last ten years of his life, amid trials and tribulations, he always held a childlike heart seeking strength in knowledge, writing down the thoughts forged with blood and tears. This is the "Wumenglou" for which Mr. Wang Yuanhua wrote the preface.
