Publishing Date: 2004-05-01
Features: This dictionary includes approximately 1,300 entries on ethical terms, doctrines, schools, figures, and works. It is organized by category. Terms and doctrines are divided into four major categories: Principles of Ethics, Applied Ethics, History of Chinese Ethical Thought, and History of Foreign Ethical Thought. Figures and works are arranged by China, foreign countries, and time. The categorization is only for the convenience of readers and does not represent any academic system. Translations follow the most common usage. Some transliterations may differ, but those still in common use are retained based on convention. For historical dates, the pre-1911 Revolution entries in the Chinese section use the old calendar with annotations in the Common Era, while those after the 1911 Revolution use the Common Era. The foreign section uses the Common Era exclusively.
