Features: The name of the great Russian poet Pushkin is already familiar to a broad readership in China. From the introduction and translation of Pushkin by predecessors such as Lu Xun, Guo Moruo, Mao Dun, and Zheng Zhenduo, through the continuous efforts of later generations, Pushkin's works have now appeared before readers in numerous individual volumes and various collections and complete editions. On June 6, 1999, the bicentenary of the poet's birth was celebrated as a national holiday in Russia. Cities in China, such as Beijing and Shanghai, also held various forms of commemorative events on this day. The People's Literature Publishing House even published the commemorative collection Pushkin and Me on this occasion, showcasing the Chinese people's deep love and respect for Pushkin. Through his poems, essays, poetic dramas, and fairy tales, Pushkin pioneered a new era in Russian literature, rapidly bringing Russian literature, which had lagged behind Western Europe, up to par. As a result, he is justifiably recognized as the founder of modern Russian literature, the creator of the Russian literary language, and the "sun of Russian poetry." In his lifetime, Pushkin wrote over 800 lyric poems, and this book selects 200 of them from different stages of his creative career, most of which are timeless masterpieces in Russian literature. Additionally, we have carefully chosen over a dozen illustrations, both large and small, from the vast number of illustrations created by generations of painters for Pushkin's poems over the past two centuries, including masterpieces by renowned Russian artists such as Repin. We believe that pairing classic works with exquisite illustrations will bring readers endless artistic enjoyment. This book includes Pushkin's poems, novels, and dramas.
