Features: Zhongyue Songshan, also known as Tai Shi Mountain, is located in the northern part of Dengfeng County, Henan Province. The mountain is formed by the twin peaks of Tai Shi Mountain to the east and Xiao Shi Mountain to the west, with steep and rugged terrain and layered peaks. It is home to numerous historical sites such as the Zhongyue Temple, Songshan Academy, and Songye Temple. Among these, the Zhongyue Temple is the oldest, allegedly built during the Qin Dynasty and being one of the earliest Taoist temples. It has long served as a place for emperors to worship and pray to the heavens. Ten miles west of the Zhongyue Temple lies the Songshan Academy, one of the Eight Great Academies of the Song Dynasty, where both Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi once taught. The western part of Songshan is Xiao Shi Mountain, with its continuous ridges and peaks rising abruptly from the ground, competing in beauty and grandeur. The scenery is majestic and spectacular, earning it the reputation of "Nine Cauldrons and Lotus Flowers" since ancient times.
