Dyspepsia is a term used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, referring to what Western medicine calls indigestion. Accumulated stagnation damages the spleen: emaciation, poor weight gain, abdominal distension, poor appetite, lack of energy, restlessness at night, irregular bowel movements, often with foul odor, thick and greasy tongue coating. Deficiency of both qi and blood: sallow or pale complexion, dry and sparse yellow hair, emaciation, listlessness or irritability, restlessness when sleeping, low crying tone, cold limbs, developmental delay, sunken abdomen, loose and watery stools, pale tongue with thin coating, pale-colored fingertip lines.
