Features: Since ancient times, China has valued both books and illustrations, recognizing the significant role of images. When Xiao He entered Chang'an, he did not first seize gold, jade, or treasures, but instead took the Qin Dynasty's books and archives, which allowed him to understand the vital points of the world. The great scholar Zheng Xuan of the Han Dynasty, when interpreting the Book of Songs, also created illustrations for the poems. Guo Pu, a renowned scholar of the Jin Dynasty, included diagrams of plants, insects, fish, birds, and beasts when annotating the earliest Chinese dictionary, the Erya. Regrettably, these works have not survived to this day. However, we can still see many books on astronomy, geography, rituals, music, chess, and artifacts that include numerous illustrations to aid understanding and enhance reading interest.
