Features: The Applied Chinese Dictionary contains approximately 10,000 single characters and over 40,000 entries, with a total word count of about 3.6 million. Entries primarily focus on lexical terms, with appropriate inclusion of encyclopedic content. General Mandarin terms (including idioms, alliterative phrases, colloquialisms, proverbs, set phrases, and sayings) as well as common classical Chinese terms and dialectal expressions account for about 90% of the total; common encyclopedic terms make up approximately 10%. This dictionary is a multifunctional language reference tool, in addition to standard features such as defining forms, phonetic annotation, explanations, and illustrative examples, it incorporates many new elements, such as part-of-speech labeling, listing common measure words for nouns, synonyms differentiation, and inclusion of reverse-order entries, serving readers from multiple perspectives and levels.
