Patient's question:
NoDoctor's answer:
Hello, if the baby does not have a fever or cough, most colds are caused by viral infections, and indeed antibiotics are not needed because colds are self-limiting illnesses (they heal on their own). If you go to the hospital and rule out respiratory infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, or tonsillitis, symptomatic treatment is usually sufficient. All medications only help alleviate symptoms, and it still takes time (around 7 days) for improvement.
