Is the child's limb twitching severe?

Patient's question:

No

Doctor's answer:

Approximately 50% of epilepsy seizures occur, mostly around the age of 1 or between 14-17. Grand seizures can be divided into four stages:
(1) Aura stage: Symptoms include dizziness and stomach discomfort.
(2) Tonic phase: Sudden loss of consciousness, falling to the ground, head extension, and rigid limbs. Due to diaphragmatic spasms, the patient may emit a "sheep-like" bellow, with bluish complexion, dilated pupils, and temporary cessation of breathing, lasting for several seconds.
(3) Clonic phase: Rhythmic twitching of the entire body, often biting the tongue, foaming at the mouth, and possible incontinence of urine and feces. This stage typically lasts 1-3 minutes.
(4) Recovery phase: It usually takes several minutes for the patient to regain consciousness. They may not remember the seizure process and experience general pain and weakness. In rare cases, some patients may exhibit agitation, running around, screaming, or even attacking others during recovery.
