Features: The "Contemporary Chinese Classic Animation Series" presents China's outstanding animated films in a comprehensive manner through the combination of books and original VCDs. It allows more readers to appreciate the excellent culture of the Chinese nation; helps adults relive their childhood memories; enables young readers to experience Chinese culture and be nurtured and educated by the Chinese spirit through Chinese stories and images; and also aims to inspire Chinese animation filmmakers to create more animated films with Chinese style and national charm, shape more Chinese cartoon stars, and recreate the glory of Chinese animation. This book primarily focuses on two films: "Deer Bell" and "Little Deer."
Film 1: Through the story of a little girl and her grandfather rescuing a lost fawn from the forest and later the fawn reuniting with its parents, it tells a beautiful story of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. "Deer Bell" serves as the connecting thread and artistic focus throughout the film, linking the little girl and the fawn in their deep bond. The art design of this film was handled by the renowned painter Cheng Shifa. In the vivid and ethereal brushwork, the little girl, her grandfather, the fawn family, and all background figures appear lively and dynamic in a freehand style. The film has no monologues or narration, but its unique ink-and-water painting style creates a fusion of scene and emotion, making the work poetic and picturesque, as if "in silence, there is more than sound," bringing an infinite poetic charm and appeal to the piece.
Film 2: This story tells of two mischievous boys who, with the help of a water deer and an old grandmother, learn their lesson in a fairy tale. It illustrates that those who observe the world with kind eyes and hearts, using a kind heart to treat the world, are the ones who truly discover its beauty and can deeply enjoy the happiness and joy of a good life from the bottom of their hearts. This film employs the artistic expression of colored ink painting, supplemented by concise dialogue and narration, which fully showcases the lively and exaggerated strengths of animation while demonstrating the beauty of art through harmonious and protective color combinations.
