Many factors contributed to the formation of Dalí's unique artistic style, including the psychological resistance he developed in his inner world due to the abuse he suffered in his childhood, his "narcissistic personality," his deep obsession with his homeland Catalonia, which was filled with romantic passion and cultural atmosphere, his admiration for Antoni Gaudí, the Spanish "Art Nouveau" architect who masterfully blended modernity with national and folk artistic traditions, his influences from Picasso and Miró to some extent, and most importantly, his bold and daring spirit in innovating and standing out.
