December: Here you come, it's your turn to rule. Everything's fine here. There's plenty of snow: it hasn't reached the birch trees' waists, but it's already up to the pine trees' knees. It's still our winter's reign—no trouble in sight. Our season is mostly overcast, so you might as well let the sun shine more often.
January: Thank you, you're doing great. Did you freeze the rivers and lakes solid?
December: Don't worry, they're frozen, but you might as well freeze them some more.
January: Alright, I won't let you down. How are the residents of the forest doing?
December: Everything's peaceful! Those who hibernate are still sleeping, and those who don't are running and jumping around. I'll call them all here, and you can take a look yourself. A wonderful fairy tale, no doubt! This fairy tale play is based on Slavic folklore. On the eve of the New Year, the little queen issued an order: whoever brings a basket of snowdrops will be rewarded with a basket of gold. So, on a cold, snow-filled night, an orphan girl is driven into the deep mountains by her stepmother to pick snowdrops, which only bloom in April. Will she be able to return alive? Before the readers is a splendid and magical artistic world.
