Features: In the German word Beruf (profession, vocation), and perhaps even more clearly in the English word Calling (profession, divine calling), there is at least one concept related to religion: the task arranged by God. Dedication means respecting and honoring one's profession. If a person treats their profession with respect and piety, even holding it in awe, they already possess a spirit of dedication. However, if their sense of awe does not rise to the level of reverence for this mysterious divine arrangement, or if they do not elevate their profession to the height of a calling, then their dedication is not complete, and they have not grasped its essence. The concept of a calling imbues one's profession with a sense of sanctity and mission, and also connects their life's faith to their work. Only by viewing one's profession as their life's faith can one truly grasp the essence of dedication.
