Features: Based on traditional Chinese medicine, this book adopts modern oral medicine terminology and combines the author's years of clinical experience in dentistry. It collects over a thousand Chinese herbal prescriptions, empirical formulas, and patent medicines for the prevention and treatment of common oral diseases. The content covers ten aspects of oral diseases, including teeth, gums, lips, tongue, mouth, face, facial nerves, salivary glands, and jaw joints. For each oral disease, it categorizes treatment methods such as oral administration, external application, gargling, moxibustion massage, and other commonly used prevention and treatment techniques. The therapies primarily focus on single or small formulas using one or two herbs, with minimal reference to complex multi-herb prescriptions. A single disease may have multiple formulas or treatments. To ensure systematic organization, the arrangement follows the order of the first letter of the Pinyin pronunciation of each character in the treatment names, such as G in Gancao (ginseng) being placed before H in Huanglian (coptis root). The book also recommends common self-care techniques for oral health, such as toothbrushing, tapping teeth, pecking teeth, flossing, rubbing teeth, massage, gargling saliva, holding breath during urination to strengthen teeth, and tooth health exercises. Additionally, it introduces some facial skin beauty care methods for reference at the end. Whether dealing with one disease and one formula or multiple formulas for a single disease, it is essential to choose based on individual conditions. Among multiple methods, one can select according to available resources for convenience and effectiveness, identifying the most suitable formula for personal needs. This approach is both practical and yields satisfying results.
