Malignant bone tumor lesion of the left femur is possible?

Patient's question:

Dear Director Chen,
We had an MRI at Shanghai Children's Medical Center on January 30, 2015. We originally went there because the area below both ankles was painful after intense exercise. However, the MRI report later showed a patchy shadow in the medullary cavity of the left femur, possibly a benign bone tumor lesion, such as a non-ossifying fibroma? (The MRI was taken incidentally).
Then, the doctor recommended surgery, saying it was a lesion and advised us to have it removed. I asked the doctor if my son’s ankle pain after intense exercise was related to this, and she said it wasn’t caused by this and that there was no connection. She said the ankle pain was due to calcium deficiency. If it were a calcium deficiency issue, we wouldn’t be too concerned.
Additionally, I would like to ask Director Chen, do you need an appointment for your Monday clinic? We have already bought tickets for Monday and plan to come.
Thank you!

Doctor's answer:

Please take a photo and upload it for inspection, and then I will provide a diagnosis. In this case, whether to have surgery or not, I recommend you bring the child in for a check-up.
