Features: This book is a remarkable work consisting of four volumes. In this work, Swift's narrative techniques and satirical talents are fully reflected. The protagonist, Gulliver, is an English surgeon who later becomes a captain. He is well-educated, proud of his country, and seems to have considerable insight in both his profession and politics. However, he is fundamentally an ordinary person, and Swift skillfully uses this limitation of the protagonist to achieve maximum satirical effect.
