Features: Kreisler composed over 150 violin pieces in his lifetime, but during that time, he claimed many of these works were by famous composers from history. These pieces were loved by people and became widely popular. Later, he publicly announced that all these compositions were his own works, which caused dissatisfaction among music critics. However, Kreisler said, "People love these pieces because of their intrinsic value. Is it that just because my name is written on them, they lose their value?" In 2000, I served as a judge for the Menuhin International Violin Competition in the UK. A young contestant played Kreisler's "Vienna Fantasy," and the Dean of the Vienna Conservatory, sitting next to me, smiled and shook his head gently, whispering, "No! No! This child doesn’t know what Viennese style is!" So, what exactly is Viennese style? What is Kreisler’s golden sound? What is Kreisler’s playing style? Why do people love his works? These are not things that can be described in words. Only by looking at this score collection and listening to the performances of renowned artists can we truly appreciate the immense spiritual wealth created by this genius master for us.
