Peripheral blood chromosome analysis

Patient's question:

I am 21 weeks pregnant with a fetal demise in utero, and now I am preparing to have another child. My husband and I had a peripheral blood chromosome test. The test results: 46XY. This test was performed with G-banding, showing 320-400 bands. It cannot be ruled out that the condition is caused by microchromosome abnormalities or gene mutations. This karyotype analysis cannot completely rule out true mosaicism. Is our test result normal? Do we need any further tests?

Doctor's answer:

Analysis of the condition: Hello! This result is the chromosomal test result of your husband, indicating that some chromosomes are abnormal. Therefore, you had a fetal death in utero at 21 weeks of pregnancy.
Recommendations: Since there is a genetic issue, it cannot be treated. Currently, the only option is to try pregnancy by chance. Wishing you the best of luck and early fulfillment of your wishes!
