Born in Tianjin in 1941, Tian Lianyuan showed exceptional talent from a young age. At 17, he debuted on stage and gained recognition with a performance titled Chasing Lightning on a Flying Horse. Later, he gained fame for narrating The Yang Family Story, The Legend of Liu Xiu, and The Tale of Hai Rui. In 1985, he pioneered televised serial storytelling with The Yang Family Story.
Tian Lianyuan's storytelling technique constantly seeks innovation while emphasizing literary depth.
