Features: As is well known, the National Unified Examination for Master's Degree Applicants with Equal Academic Standing in English is divided into two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is worth a total of 65 points, while Paper 2 has a maximum score of 35 points. In 2004, the examination syllabus was adjusted, incorporating the error identification section into Paper 1, while Paper 2 retained the original translation (Chinese to English) and writing sections, with a new addition of the translation (English to Chinese) section. The syllabus explicitly states that if a candidate's score on Paper 2 does not reach the minimum of 18 points, regardless of their score on Paper 1, they will be considered fail. Many candidates have a total score of 60 points, but their performance on Paper 2 falls short of the minimum 18 points, unfortunately missing the opportunity to pass. Therefore, the score on Paper 2 is crucial and requires special training. Based on this idea, we organized several experienced teachers who have long been engaged in pre-examination tutoring for this exam to write this book. The features of this book are: detailed and reasonable categorization, strong targeting, a combination of theory and practice, and abundant information. The error identification section categorizes the error identification questions from full-length past papers, introducing key and difficult points of grammar knowledge for explanation, making it clear for candidates to focus on their weak areas for review. The translation (Chinese to English) and translation (English to Chinese) sections provide detailed explanations of common problems and techniques in translation, with training materials focusing on science, technology, culture, and popular topics, accompanied by a large number of exercises and commonly used specialized terms carefully collected by teachers. The writing section provides detailed explanations of common issues and writing steps, along with extensive writing practice on hot topics and common expressions, helping candidates master certain writing techniques and improve their English writing skills. We believe that as long as candidates thoroughly read this book, grasp the fundamentals, complete the exercises, and persist in practice, their English proficiency will certainly improve, and they will achieve good results in the exam. This book was edited by Juan Lin and Huang Chuan, with error identification and correction sections written by Zhang He, Wu Yun, and Juan Lin, and translation and writing sections written by Min Xuan. This book is suitable for candidates taking the examination for master's degrees with equal academic standing and also for other English enthusiasts. Due to limited time and expertise, the writing was rushed, and errors may inevitably exist. We welcome criticism and corrections from readers.
