Features: The selections in this book are from the small pieces of sanqu. The title "Small Bridge and Flowing Water" emphasizes the works that depict natural scenery and express the personal sentiments of the authors. Life is rich and varied. In the fast-paced, competitive reality of modern life, each of us is inevitably subject to fluctuations in emotions like joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. If readers can find joy and pleasure in reciting and savoring these works after meals, or express their pain and melancholy through them, gaining some spiritual enjoyment in the process, then that is our purpose fulfilled. As timeless masterpieces, the Yuan Dynasty sanqu will evoke different feelings in different readers and under different circumstances. Therefore, the "appreciation" presented here is merely the author's personal understanding.
