Features: The Oxford Concise Dictionary of Music is the best music encyclopedia dictionary published domestically. This book is extremely rich in content and highly practical, with a unique and ingenious arrangement. Its structure is flexible, well-balanced, and appropriately concise or detailed. It introduces the creative styles and significant influences of various important composers. Although the wording is often diplomatic, the viewpoints are clear and well-founded. The book contains over 2 million words and 9,887 entries. Each composer is accompanied by a detailed list of their major works, such as Schubert's works list, which includes over 300 works, including more than 130 songs. Entries are arranged in the original order. The top margin of odd pages marks the last entry of the page in the original term, while the top margin of even pages marks the first entry of the page in the original term. This book uses simplified Chinese characters as specified in the Simplified Chinese Character Scheme promulgated in 1956. The use of numbers in this book follows the rules of the Rules for the Use of Numbers in Publications promulgated in May 1997. The capitalization and phonetic notation of foreign letters in this book follow the original book. For terms with Chinese translations, the original term is listed first, followed by the translation. For terms without Chinese translations, only the original term is provided, followed directly by the explanation. For terms that are Western names, the surname is listed first, followed by the given name, separated by a comma. The Chinese translation follows the same order, with names separated by a middle dot. When names appear in the explanation, those not listed in this book are generally not accompanied by the original term; works without titles are not accompanied by the original term, while titled works are generally accompanied by the original term. When the explanation of a work includes more than one language, generally only the language used when the work was written or first published is included, but if there are common names in other languages, they are listed together. Major and minor modes in the explanation are represented by Chinese characters, while sharps and flats are generally represented by Chinese characters, and mode names are represented by uppercase Latin letters. Cross-references in the explanation are marked with an asterisk. The meaning of special markings in the explanation is noted in the corresponding entry. The translation of foreign names follows the principle of "following the master and adhering to convention." At the end of the main text, an index of Chinese translations of terms is provided in pinyin order, along with the original terms. Terms without Chinese translations do not have a Chinese index.
