Features: This book selects ten short stories and novellas by Ruoshi. Ruoshi (1902-1931), a modern novelist, was born with the surname Zhao and the given name Pingfu in Ninghai, Zhejiang. In 1918, he enrolled at Zhejiang Normal School in Hangzhou. He began literary in 1923. In 1926, he engaged in educational work in Ninghai. In 1928, he moved to Shanghai and actively participated in progressive literary activities. He once edited Yüsi (The Silkworms) and, with the support of Lu Xun, founded the Chaohua Society. In 1930, he joined the League of Left-Wing Writers and the same year joined the Communist Party of China. On February 7, 1931, he was executed by the Nationalist government in Shanghai, Longhua. His works include the poetic drama Comedy of Mankind, the novels February and Mother of Slaves, and the prose A Great Impression.
