The Qingming Festival mourning for Premier Zhou in 1976 and the "April Fifth Movement" against the "Gang of Four" led to the widespread dissemination of "Poetry Collection of the Tiananmen Revolution" and made the name "Tong Huai Zhou" known across the country. As a result, he was investigated by the "Gang of Four." After the "Gang of Four" was overthrown, he became a member of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and served as the Deputy Director of the Office for Investigating the Counter-Revolutionary Group of Lin Biao and Jiang Qing, as well as the Head of the Interrogation Team. A sense of historical responsibility led him to pick up his pen and record this period of experience, documenting some little-known events, leaving behind valuable historical materials for posterity.
