Scientific socialism

Publish Date: 2004-02-01
Features: This book has been in print for 11 years since its fourth edition. These 11 years have been a period of tremendous changes in world socialism, as well as a time of vigorous development and remarkable achievements in the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. Theoretically, it has seen a series of innovations and significant advancements. Throughout this period, the author has consistently engaged in theoretical research based on practical developments, applying the research findings in teaching by continuously revising the Teaching Outline for undergraduate and graduate students (Master's and PhD). Building on this foundation, the author spent several years from 1993 revising the book, making substantial changes in both the system design and specific content, effectively making it a new book. The revised edition has three new features:
(1) In the Introduction, a new summary and elaboration are provided on the research objects, theoretical structure, theoretical system, and main characteristics of both general and narrow scientific socialism, offering enlightenment and enriching the discipline of scientific socialism.
(2) The system of this book is more scientific and rational than before.
(3) Emphasis is highlighted. The book focuses on the second part, systematically elaborating in 13 chapters a series of major theoretical and practical issues related to "What is socialism and how to build socialism." It not only emphasizes Deng Xiaoping's theory of building socialism with Chinese characteristics but also organically connects it to the principles of scientific socialism established and continuously developed by the founders of Marxism, the founders of Leninism, and the founders of Mao Zedong Thought. This correctly handles the relationship between the "source" and "stream" in the development of scientific socialism, thereby achieving a more comprehensive dissemination of the theory.
