Features: This book is a summary of the authors' years of experience in teaching reform. It organically combines the basic theories of computer-aided design with specific modeling and machining processes. Using a unified theoretical framework, it introduces data processing technology, graphic processing technology, three-dimensional modeling technology, and the interface technology between CAD and CAM. Additionally, it employs a comic strip format to explain the modeling methods of common three-dimensional software and the process of generating CNC machining programs. As a result, it allows for more content to be taught in fewer class hours, adapting to the development of mechanical CAD.
Chapter 1 introduces an overview of mechanical CAD;
Chapter 2 introduces common engineering data processing techniques, such as the programmatic processing of tables, the programmatic processing of graphs, the formulaization of tables and graphs, and the establishment of engineering databases;
Chapter 3 introduces common graphic file formats, methods of representing three-dimensional graphics, feature modeling, and the interaction between graphic files, data files, and program files;
Chapter 4 introduces integrated CAD/CAM technology and related hardware interfaces;
Chapter 5 introduces the methods and steps for generating CNC machining programs using CATIA software, Cimatron software, and UG software;
Chapter 6 introduces the installation and basic functions of SolidWorks 2003 software;
Chapter 7 introduces sketch drawing, feature modeling, and advanced feature modeling using SolidWorks 2003 software;
Chapter 8 introduces assembly mating, part drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed engineering drawings;
Chapter 9 introduces the secondary development of SolidWorks 2003 software, common plugins, Photoworks functionality, Animator functionality, and COSMOSXpress functionality;
Chapter 10 introduces part design, part assembly, assembly methods, the generation of three-dimensional assembly drawings and exploded views, and the generation of assembly engineering drawings, using a reducer as an example.
This book can serve as a textbook for higher vocational and technical colleges in mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechatronics, mechanical design and theory, industrial engineering, and other related disciplines. It can also be used as a teaching aid for other relevant majors and as a reference book for engineering technicians.
