Features: As interpersonal activities play an increasingly important role in our daily lives, the voice is crucial to people's quality of life and enjoyment. However, voice disorders continue to trouble people in various professions. Voice medicine, which focuses on voice disorders, has developed from traditional otolaryngology and has evolved into an independent marginal science. With the rapid advancement of science and technology, laryngeal surgery has continuously innovated toward preserving, restoring, or improving function, gradually forming and establishing the new specialty of voice surgery. Yet to this day, China has yet to produce a dedicated monograph on "Voice Surgery." Not only do general physicians have limited systematic knowledge of voice surgery, but even otolaryngologists lack an understanding of the actual level and progress of voice surgery. This book introduces relevant knowledge from internal medicine, psychology, rehabilitation medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine in substantial sections, striving to optimize patients' preoperative physiological and psychological states—topics rarely covered in previous surgical works, with this book making an exploratory attempt. The contributors, combining their clinical experience and referencing the latest domestic and international literature, have delved into the latest advancements in voice surgery amidst the vast ocean of laryngeal science literature, compiling this comprehensive monograph that reflects the current state of voice surgery development. The book is divided into six parts and thirty-one chapters, with over 100 illustrations. It primarily introduces the anatomy of the larynx, voice physiology, voice disorder examinations, various voice disorders, and voice surgical treatments. It particularly details vocal cord surgery, laryngeal frame surgery, laryngeal nerve-muscle surgery, and post-laryngeal cancer voice reconstruction surgery. These surgeries are systematically described in terms of indications, contraindications, surgical steps, intraoperative precautions, postoperative management, and complications. It is hoped that the content of this book will provide valuable references for otolaryngologists, especially young scholars.
