Patient's question:
The child has had pneumonia three times. Will it turn into asthma?Doctor's answer:
Bronchopneumonia, also known as lobar pneumonia, is the most common type of pneumonia in children and is most frequently seen in infants and young children. Pneumonia often occurs during winter and spring seasons or when the climate changes abruptly. Poor ventilation, crowded indoor living conditions, and polluted air with a high presence of pathogenic microorganisms make it easier for pneumonia to develop. Bronchopneumonia can be caused by bacteria or viruses. Based on pathological changes, it is classified into two types: general bronchopneumonia and interstitial bronchopneumonia. The former is mostly caused by bacteria, while the latter is primarily caused by viruses. Clinically, it is often diagnosed as bronchopneumonia in a general sense.
