The entries are generally arranged in chronological order by dynasty or era, with bronze items organized by type and dynasty. The descriptions for each entry typically include the name of the cultural relic, its era, dimensions, weight, excavation time and location, collection unit, form and decorative features, as well as an analysis of its artistic, scientific, and historical value.
The historical dates in this book are generally written in the old calendar system, with corresponding Common Era dates provided in parentheses. Ancient place names are occasionally annotated with their modern equivalents. Measurements are written according to the legal metrological units of the People's Republic of China.
