Author: Jiangsu New Medical College Editors

Publishing Date: 1999-11-01
Features: This book attempts to comprehensively organize traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) by extensively collecting literature on TCM from ancient and modern China and abroad. It aims to provide relatively complete and systematic reference materials for clinical practice, scientific research, teaching, and the integration of Chinese and Western medicine. The goal is to contribute to the creation of a unified new medicine and pharmacy in China, making it a practical and essential professional reference book for TCM. The literature on traditional Chinese herbs and reports from various regions is vast and diverse. Due to the complexity of the species, there have long been issues of name-real discrepancy, and sometimes conflicting or even contradictory opinions exist in the literature. These problems need to be gradually addressed through the application of various modern scientific methods, combined with production practices, clinical applications, and scientific research. This book is divided into two volumes and includes a total of 5,767 traditional Chinese medicines. It comprises 4,773 plant medicines, 740 animal medicines, 82 mineral medicines, and 172 processed products traditionally used as single herbs (e.g., cinnabar, spirit).
