Features: In various design art courses such as architectural design, interior design, industrial design, and graphic design, sketching is an indispensable foundational course. Unlike students of pure art painting, who may focus on sketching as an extension of an independent art form reflecting ideological expression, this book introduces a sketching training course specifically designed for design students, particularly those studying architecture, interior, and environmental design. Unlike general sketching teaching processes, this course begins with basic form elements and centers around a series of visual themes, conducting open-ended visual observation, analysis, and creative painting exercises. This helps students recognize different visual form phenomena, cultivate a deep visual experience, achieve an understanding of visual forms, develop creative visual thinking, and actively acquire design language elements from sketching training, thereby laying a solid visual thinking foundation for design learning. The course covers several aspects: basic sketching skill training (e.g., structural sketching, chiaroscuro sketching), fundamental concepts and methods of painting perspective (e.g., one-point perspective, two-point perspective, three-point perspective, orthographic projection), form elements and principles of (point, line, plane, volume, space), and basic strategies of visual communication (e.g., realistic, cognitive, expressive). These aspects align perfectly with the schematic thinking process in the design process, making sketching training more closely integrated with design and learning sketching and design as a whole.
