Features: How to recognize and grasp the characteristics and laws of this stage of agricultural development in China, adopt practical strategies, seize the opportunity to promote the adjustment of the structure of agriculture and rural economy, upgrade its level, and accelerate the process of commercialization, marketization, and modernization of agriculture is a new, major, and urgent issue we face. Comrade Wan Baorui, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, organized experts and scholars from more than 10 ministries, commissions, and institutions to conduct in-depth research on a series of major issues in the new stage of agricultural and rural economic development under the guidance of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the spirit of the 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, closely linking theory with practice. They wrote the book "New Stage of Agricultural Development in China." The book systematically elaborates on the characteristics, trends, and main problems of the new stage of agricultural development, as well as the strategic choices and countermeasures for this stage. This monograph has many original and innovative aspects both in theoretical perspectives and in policy proposals, playing a positive role in deepening people's understanding of the new stage of agricultural development, updating concepts, and broadening the thinking of agricultural and rural economic development. The new stage of agricultural development is a dynamic historical process, involving many issues to explore and extremely arduous research tasks. As practice continues to advance, research must be continuously deepened, which cannot be accomplished by one or two monographs alone. We, at all levels and in all sectors, especially those engaged in agricultural and rural work, economic experts, and scholars, should actively participate in the research of this major issue, pool our wisdom and efforts, and continuously achieve new and more results to promote the sustainable and rapid development of China's agricultural and rural economy in the new stage.
