Features: With the continuous improvement of English teaching quality in secondary schools, the starting level of college English teaching is also generally increasing. However, in some universities, a portion of students still face difficulties in learning the English Level 1 textbook due to various reasons, with greater challenges in listening. A College English Listening Preparatory Course is needed as a transitional textbook for them.
1. The College English Listening Preparatory Course is divided into five major sections, based on the gap between students' listening proficiency and their vocabulary recognition, as well as their specific difficulties in starting to learn listening.
2. Each section consists of two parts: "Listening and Reading" and "Listening and Practice." The "Listening and Reading" part aims to combine the three dimensions of sound, form, and meaning of words and sentences through repeated listening and reading, enabling students to integrate them into a unified whole. The "Listening and Practice" part is designed to reinforce the learning effects of the "Listening and Reading" section, with practice focusing on the main content of that section.
3. The training focus of the last two units is selected from common phrases in the Level 1 Listening Course, laying a foundation for students to enter the Level 1 Listening learning stage.
4. Given the concentrated content and lower difficulty of this course, it can also serve as a supplementary textbook for intensive English listening training for Chinese-English learners.
