Features: Since the publication of the "French-Chinese Dictionary" in 1978, it has been well-received by readers and has become a staple medium-sized comprehensive language dictionary for learners and users of French. However, twenty years have passed, and with the development of society, languages have also evolved. The usage of certain words in French has changed, and many new terms have emerged. To meet the needs of readers, we began this revision in 1998. This revision has added numerous new entries, focusing on incorporating new terms in fields such as economics, law, and science and technology (including computer science, information science, and biotechnology). At the same time, some outdated terms that are no longer commonly included in medium-sized French dictionaries and examples with specific historical have been removed. Additionally, the definitions and usage of a significant number of entries have been revised or supplemented, and certain modifications have been made to the format. The dictionary has also adopted newer phonetic rules based on the trends of pronunciation development. The revised dictionary now contains approximately 65,000 entries, with an increased capacity compared to the original. Our goal is to make the revised "New French-Chinese Dictionary" a more comprehensive and practical medium-sized dictionary.
