Features: The purpose of writing this book is to introduce students to the current state of personality research and to show them the excitement and challenges that personality psychologists face when trying to understand humans. Humans are complex. No two people are the same. How can we grasp this complexity and diversity while systematically expressing universal principles suitable for everyone? This is the essence of the challenge faced by personality psychologists. The research introduced in this book represents my personal view on the current acceptance of this challenge and is also the focus of this textbook. At the same time, I strive to discuss some important theories in the field using relevant research to familiarize students with them. When appropriately expressing my personal opinions and evaluating these attempts, I also strive to introduce different orientations fairly. Finally, although this book focuses on the work of scholars who identify as personality psychologists, it also summarizes the research of many scholars who are considered social psychologists, developmental psychologists, or behavioral geneticists. This book introduces students to the current state of personality research and shows them the excitement and challenges that personality psychologists face when trying to understand humans. The content is comprehensive, with a strong emphasis on knowledge and theory.
