Features: Tani Taro is a young reporter at a major Tokyo newspaper, using a sword as his pen to target the current Construction Minister, Daimatsu Kazumasa. It is said that Daimatsu's companies number no less than fifty, with assets ranging from 30 billion to 500 billion yen. Leveraging his extensive network and power, Daimatsu extorts money from the financial sector, acquires land at low prices, and resorts to murder against those who stand in his way. When Tani's manifesto, "The Alchemy of Minister Daimatsu Kazumasa," was published in the newspaper, the pressure and persecution he endured were inevitable. This book is Morimura Seiichi's latest work, published in September 2002. What is valuable is that Tani, as portrayed by Morimura, is a true tough guy—unafraid of the powerful and undeterred by life or death. Morimura captures the spirit of a journalist.
