Features: The term "gender" is used to reflect the purpose of building the discipline of Chinese women's studies we are engaged in—using a gender perspective, categories, and methods to intersect with other categories such as class, ethnicity, region, and age to examine and construct knowledge in various fields. Through critical reflection, we aim to reconstruct, produce, and disseminate new knowledge and ways of thinking that promote equality, inspire people to take action against gender inequality, achieve unity of knowledge and action, and integrate theory with practice. This enables participants to continuously improve their cognitive abilities and strengthen their capacity for action in the practice of social and cultural transformation. It is an academic space created by women's studies scholars themselves, a fertile ground nurtured and self-grown by women's studies scholars. Here, we advocate serious academic discussion, exchange, and debate, and welcome young scholars (including graduate and undergraduate students) to showcase their talents. The articles in this issue are nearly half-authored by young scholars and graduate students (including 7 projects supported by the "Young Scholars Research Fund for Gender Studies" of this research topic), demonstrating the vibrant vitality of emerging talent during the early stages of the development of Chinese women's studies!
