Features: This volume includes important works of Comrade Deng Xiaoping from September 1982 to February 1992, compiled as Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping, Volume 3. The two previously published volumes will be renamed Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping, Volume 1 and Volume 2 when their second editions are released. Volume 3 of the selected works contains 119 speeches, talks, and other writings. A significant portion of these were previously unpublished. Works that had been published in pamphlets such as Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (Revised Edition) and Important Talks by Comrade Deng Xiaoping (February-July 1987), as well as in newspapers, have been included in this volume with textual revisions. Many articles have been supplemented with additional content based on records.
This volume begins with the previously published Opening Address at the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of China from the previous selection (1975–1982) as the opening piece, and concludes with the Key Points of Talks in Wuhan, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shanghai, and Other Places (January 18–February 21, 1992).
