How to deal with a 40-day-old baby who doesn't sleep well?

Patient's question:

I would like to ask which is better between general anesthesia and local anesthesia during a cesarean section? Thank you.
My baby is 40 days old, and she often moves a lot while sleeping. But after careful observation, it doesn’t seem to be the “long stretches” of movement that the elders mention—it looks more like constipation. However, there’s no problem with her bowel movements. What’s even harder to understand is that she moves all day long, including at night. It feels like she can’t sleep soundly. Why is this happening?

Doctor's answer:

Lack of trace elements, reduced blood calcium due to increased brain and vegetative nervous system excitability, leading to restless sleep at night for the baby. Calcium and vitamin D need to be supplemented. If calcium deficiency occurs, the baby's fontanelles may not close properly; if zinc deficiency occurs, mouth ulcers are usually present around the corners of the mouth.
2. Too hot or too cold
3. Too dry, with nasal mucus
4. Too excited before sleep, go to sleep on time: 0.5 to 1 hour before the baby goes to sleep, the baby should be calmed down. Avoid playing too excitedly before bed and do not overstimulate the baby. Watching stimulating TV programs, telling scary stories, or playing with new toys before bed should be avoided. Create a good sleep environment for the baby. The room temperature should be appropriate, quiet, and dimly lit. The bedding should be light, soft, and dry. The baby should be made to urinate before bed.
5. Check for pinworms around the anus.
6. Many mothers see the baby crying at night and assume the child is hungry, then feed the baby. In fact, this is a very bad habit. Doing so may instead create a habit of waking up at night to be fed.
7. Accumulated food, poor digestion, heatiness, or overeating at night can also cause sleep disturbances. It is recommended that solid foods such as porridge or noodles should be fed at least 2-3 hours before bedtime, followed by a little milk before bed.
