Child does not sleep

Patient's question:

Dear Experts,
My baby is four and a half months old, but he has never been a fan of sleeping. Generally speaking:
Morning: 9:00-11:00 (sleeps)
Afternoon-Night: 12:00 (sleeps for about 1-2 hours). Wakes up at 6:00 the next morning.
The rest of the time, he's either playing or crying, but mostly crying. It's exhausting for us adults.
Could you please help me understand what's wrong with my child? Is there any illness?

Doctor's answer:

1. Preparation: Feed the baby well; a well-fed baby will fall asleep contentedly. Avoid tickling or making sudden movements to prevent overexcitement. Let him stay quietly in his parents' arms for a while.
2. Swinging: Gently swaying the baby back and forth while holding him can help him fall asleep faster. Singing a lullaby while swinging is even more effective, or you can place the baby in a cradle. Note: Do not swing the baby too vigorously, as this may cause blood vessels in the brain to rupture when it collides with the skull, leading to brain injury.
3. Music: Use a soft and soothing melody as bedtime music to help the baby fall asleep. You can choose music the baby has heard during "Fetal University."
4. Wrapping the baby: Covering the baby with a blanket or sheet can make him feel secure and prevent him from waking himself up due to limb movements or twitches, allowing him to sleep better.
