Features: This book can be used as a textbook for undergraduate students in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, hydraulics, and other non-autonomous control-related fields, as well as for vocational college students. It can also serve as a reference book for a broad range of science and technology professionals. The book primarily introduces the fundamental theories of automatic control systems and their engineering analysis and design methods. It also incorporates MATLAB language into control theory, significantly simplifying computer simulations in control theory. Functions that require thousands of lines of code in general simulation languages such as FORTRAN, C, PASCAL, and BASIC can be accomplished with just a few or a dozen lines of MATLAB code, greatly reducing the programming workload for science and technology professionals. This allows them to be freed from the burden of computer programming, thereby improving the efficiency of engineering design and scientific research. The book consists of 10 chapters. Chapter 1 primarily introduces the history, classification, and development overview of control systems; Chapter 2 primarily introduces the basic working principles, classification, and physical system modeling of automatic control systems. Chapters 3-7 introduce three control system analysis methods: time-domain analysis, frequency-domain analysis, and root locus analysis. These chapters mainly analyze system stability, rapidity, and accuracy. Chapter 8 covers control system compensation. Chapters 9 and 10 are dedicated to nonlinear system theory and discrete control systems. Each chapter of the book includes numerous examples and exercises.
