Features: Automatic Switched Optical Network (ASON) is the main direction for the future development of high-performance broadband information optical networks. This book starts from the basic principles of ASON and comprehensively introduces the latest achievements in ASON-related network architecture, key technologies, and network applications. The book is divided into four parts:
Part 1 outlines the background and research status of ASON;
Part 2, based on standard proposals, elaborates on the composition of ASON network architecture, as well as unit technologies such as signaling, routing, resource management, and automatic discovery;
Part 3 analyzes network management, node technologies, data communication networks, routing wavelength allocation, and survivability in relation to ASON, in line with the needs of network implementation and operation;
Part 4 introduces new services and network solutions for ASON.
This book is suitable for technical personnel and managers engaged in telecommunications transmission, and can also serve as a reference for students and teachers of communication majors in universities.
