Features: Due to the significant changes in the relationships among businesses, governments, and society, every chapter of this book has been revised. All chapters have been supplemented with new materials, and some chapters have undergone comprehensive structural adjustments. Through supplementation and adjustment, the international aspects of relevant issues have been greatly highlighted. We still emphasize the events, issues, and situations worldwide, but have supplemented new historical materials where they help explain the roots of the current state. This book aims to illustrate the relationships among businesses, governments, and society and their impact on business managers. Today, these relationships still exist and are undergoing rapid changes. Managers are steering the direction of their businesses in a constantly evolving world, while the forces shaping the world primarily come from two aspects: , the long-standing historical forces continuously reshape our economy, culture, politics, technology, and ecology, all of which are the foundations upon which businesses operate. Second, the increasing number of stakeholders are challenging traditional concepts, such as whether certain corporate operations are ethical and whether they fulfill their. These two forces form an omnipresent and ever-changing complex web, posing threats to managers in properly handling the relationships between businesses, governments, and society both domestically and internationally. These relationships have undergone significant changes over the past 150 years, but never as rapidly and profoundly as they are now. It has altered managers' attitudes, responsibilities, and decisions; it has forced governments to make fundamental directional adjustments; and it has also changed the way people live, work, think, and act. Yet, this era of transformation is far from over. We believe that every business school graduate should be familiar with the trends and issues discussed in this book. We wrote this book primarily for university students——however, business managers, government officials, and other relevant personnel will also find much of interest in it.
