Is this pneumonia?

Patient's question:

My wife is 25 and it's very likely that she has pneumonia. She's currently getting IV drips at the hospital and has been for (around five or six days). Recently, she's been coughing, feeling chest tightness, and having difficulty breathing.
Previous Treatment and Effects:
Her temperature has been unstable, fluctuating between high and low. She has been coughing, experiencing chest tightness, and struggling to breathe.
Kind of Help Needed:
How can I alleviate her coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath?

Doctor's answer:

It could be allergic asthma. Allergies are inflammatory reactions caused by systemic autoimmune hypersensitivity, which is also a type of inflammation. However, this kind of inflammation does not respond well to antibiotics and requires anti-allergic treatment. You can take an oral anti-allergic medication like ketotifen for three days. If the symptoms significantly improve, it proves that it is respiratory allergy.
Now is the peak season for autumn pollen-induced sensitization, and many people with allergic constitutions are prone to experiencing various discomforts again. Since the symptoms of respiratory allergies are very similar to fever, they are often mistaken for fever and treated accordingly.
Generally, patients with allergic rhinitis accompanied by asthma have more severe rhinitis and milder asthma. In contrast, those with allergic asthma directly caused by allergies have more severe asthma and milder rhinitis.
