Surgical operation is one of the main methods for treating diseases. With the development of science and the advancement of medical technology, the scope of surgical treatment for diseases has been continuously expanding. Focusing on the urgent needs of surgical doctors and the realities of clinical work, the book presents practical perspectives, systematically introducing conventional surgical procedures and their modifications that are widely used in clinical practice. It also emphasizes the introduction of new surgical techniques that represent current trends. Additionally, it analyzes and discusses controversial surgical methods that have a significant impact in clinical practice and introduces some uncommon surgical procedures with academic significance. The content presented in this book is quite comprehensive, offering extremely rich knowledge.
Based on the previous edition, this book systematically elaborates on the fundamental theories and various surgical methods of neurosurgical treatment. It covers the surgical techniques for craniocerebral trauma, intracranial tumors, intracranial infections, cerebrovascular diseases, cranial nerve diseases, spinal and spinal cord diseases, sympathetic nerve and peripheral nerve diseases. It introduces both effective traditional surgical methods and recent developments such as microscopic neurosurgery, interventional neuroradiosurgery, and stereotactic surgery, as well as new surgical instruments and devices. Detailed descriptions are provided for each surgical procedure, including indications, contraindications, preoperative preparation, anesthesia and positioning, surgical steps, key points during surgery, postoperative management, and major complications. The book is also supplemented with clear anatomical illustrations and surgical operation diagrams.
