Logic: Volume II

Author: Hegel
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2001-11-01
Features: The Chinese translation includes only the excerpts from Lenin's "Summary of Hegel's 'Science of Logic'" as cited in the original text. Page numbers from volume 38 of the "Collected Works of Lenin" are marked for easy reference. Additionally, to facilitate readers in verifying the German original text of the Michler edition used by Lenin, this book adds page numbers from this edition at the bottom of each page. A comparative table of page numbers between the Michler and Lason editions is also compiled and appended at the end of each volume.
Hegel's "Science of Logic," commonly referred to as the "Great Logic" to distinguish it from the "Small Logic" (a part of the "Complete System of Philosophy"), is divided into three parts: "Being," "Essence," and "Concept." The first two parts, collectively known as "Objective Logic," were published in 1812 and 1813, respectively. The third part, "Subjective Logic," was published in 1816. After the publication of all three parts, Hegel revised the work but only completed the revision of the "Being" part.
There are three complete editions of Hegel's works: the Michler edition, the Groener edition, and the Lason edition. The Chinese translation follows the editorial format of the Lason edition, with "Being" as the first volume and "Essence" and "Concept" as the second volume. The translation primarily relies on the Lason edition while also referencing the Groener edition.
