Features: The medical textbook project by Higher Education Press was initiated and planned in early 2002 by the China Medical Association, the National Higher Education Teaching Research Association, and more than ten renowned medical schools in China. Subsequently, dozens of additional institutions joined the project. Nearly two thousand authors participated in writing this textbook, including medical giants, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, leaders of relevant medical professional committees, and academic backbone members. What is particularly encouraging is that a large number of young and middle-aged teachers working at the forefront of teaching and clinical practice were also involved. The "Higher Education Press" medical textbooks retain the "three foundations" knowledge already present in domestic while also removing outdated theories and content based on the transformation of the medical model and changes in the disease spectrum. They introduce recognized new knowledge and technologies. These textbooks are presented in a three-dimensional and serialized format to students and teachers, fully reflecting the characteristics of medical education. In recent years, our press has not only published other medical textbooks of various disciplines and levels but also developed corresponding teaching resource databases and subject websites to provide three-dimensional teaching packages and teaching solutions for universities and colleges. Pursuing advanced educational concepts and teaching methods, building high-quality textbooks is our common aspiration! This book primarily elaborates on the relationship between human environmental factors and health, introduces the prevention and control strategies for diseases related to public health issues in populations, and presents commonly used medical statistical methods and epidemiological research methods.
